Building a Legacy in Interior Design
The ArtUp Philosophy of Piotr Łucyan
For nearly two decades, Piotr Łucyan, founder of ArtUp Interiors in Warsaw and London, has been redefining what it means to create spaces that are not only functional but profoundly cultural. His work moves fluidly between classical and contemporary aesthetics, grounded in an understanding of art history and an unshakable respect for craftsmanship.
Before establishing his studio, Piotr’s path led him from studying law at the University of Warsaw to a career in art buying and advertising production — a journey that shaped his sharp eye for composition and narrative. Later, studies in art history and interior architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts reconnected him to the essence of his calling: design as a form of cultural storytelling.
“I design interiors that stay true to the context — of the building, the city, and the people who inhabit them,” he explains. “Each project has its own rhythm, shaped by honesty of materials and the presence of art.”
This philosophy — rooted in authenticity, restraint, and precision — defines the identity of ArtUp Interiors. Piotr’s projects balance proportion, material honesty, and historical context, translating luxury not as excess but as integrity.
His work has earned recognition across Poland and abroad. He has spoken at Art Show Warsaw, 4 Design Days Katowice, and Murator Expo, consistently bridging the dialogue between design, art, and architecture. Yet what truly distinguishes his studio is the absence of traditional marketing.
Unlike many studios that scale through advertising or influencer collaborations, Piotr relies on something rarer: trust.
“I’ve never advertised,” Piotr says. “Clients come through recommendations. Relationships grow organically — sometimes into friendships. Trust is built through experience, not exposure.”

For him, communication is an extension of the design process — thoughtful, precise, and never loud. It is about revealing not only the finished work but the intention behind it: why certain materials are chosen, why art belongs in the space, why history must be acknowledged.
In an era where algorithms dominate visibility, this organic growth reflects a broader shift across European luxury design — from exposure to reputation, from quantity to quality of engagement.
A strong brand presence, in this sense, is not about constant activity but consistent expression: clarity of vision, honesty of materials, and relationships built through excellence.
In Poland’s evolving design landscape, Piotr observes a growing appreciation for collectible design and local craftsmanship. His commitment to learning continues — most recently, he completed another degree at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź and plans to begin doctoral studies.

“Consistency in quality is everything,” he reflects. “You cannot cut corners on people or processes. Every decision — aesthetic or structural — must be deliberate.”
His approach serves as a quiet reminder that legacy in interior design isn’t built through campaigns, but through care, continuity, and an unhurried pursuit of beauty.
As studios across Europe redefine what growth means, ArtUp Interiors stands as proof that the most enduring brands are not those that speak the loudest, but those that stay true — to their craft, their context, and their clients.
